Mission and Goals

The mission of The Right Place for Housing and Support, Inc., is to address the issues related to homelessness and low income housing in Calhoun County and surrounding areas.
We want to ensure that the people of our community have access to a safe, decent, and affordable home.
We believe that every family should be able to afford a home in which they can display their children’s latest academic accomplishments on the refrigerator while also being able to fill that refrigerator with healthy, nutritious food.
  • The Right Place has a special responsibility to those who encounter barriers to housing because of income, disability, or special need.
  •  The Right Place will promote, operate, and develop affordable housing that engenders stability, self-sufficiency, self-determination, and self-efficacy in its residents, bridging social capital and associational assets through collaborative action, burgeoning into long-term community assets.
  •  The Right Place will be a community leader to create public commitment, policy, and funding to preserve and develop affordable housing.
The Right Place is true to the core values we have always championed — housing, resilience, support, purpose, and commitment.
  1. We believe that every person has the right to a safe, decent, and affordable home.
  2. We believe that every person possesses the capacity to improve their lives, despite their current situation.
  3. We believe that we can facilitate that improvement by increasing self-efficacy, promoting systems conducive to success, and removing barriers to advancement.
  4. We endeavor toward the perpetual improvement our services and our properties to better serve our residents and our community.
  5. We believe in fostering social, cultural, and economic well-being through lifelong learning, advocacy, engagement, and collaboration with individuals, families, businesses, public, private, and nonprofit organizations, local, state, and federal entities, and the wider community.
