Interfaith Ministries of Calhoun County will screen and refer 50 households to the project and the Anniston Fire Department will conduct quarterly fire safety training to include use of equipment and safe heating methods.

Benefits received by each household will be:
  • Access to smoke alarms and fire extinguishers professionally installed in their home, and understand their operation and maintenance.
  • Learn about actions that are often linked to household fires including taking risks associated with poorly operating propane heaters, un-vented space heaters, and using cook stoves for heat.
  • A written fire safety plan to protect their family in the event of a home fire.
